About

Pour myself a cup of ambition.

Hey there! My name is Naomi Dolton and I am the owner and creator of Rags N Ranchwear LLC.

I've always had a knack for sewing. My sophomore year of college I started making and selling scrunchies. My sewing skills have improved a lot since then and in January of 2021 I purchased a used surging machine. After discovering the machine was in need or more repair than it was worth, I decided to take a leap of faith and purchases a new machine. I got to work and found a fabric wholesaler who was willing to ship directly to me. At the time, I was junior in college living off campus. My roommates were truly a bunch of saints. I would stay up until all odd hours of the night cutting and surging wild rags, which could get kind of noisy. After a couple months of doing my own labor, sales picked up and I needed help. I hired a local sewing shop near my fabric supplier to keep up with inventory. I am so incredibly thankful towards everyone that has helped my business develop into where it is today. If it wasn't for them, I would still be showing up to tack sale with just my table and 20 wild rags! Oh how I’ve grown!!!

In September 2021, I registered with the Minnesota Secretary of State and the official business of Rags N Ranchwear was born. Since then I've been attending several different events across the United States. My favorite event still remains…nothing beats my friends at the Minnesota Horse Expo!

In May 2022, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls with bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering Technology with an Environmental Engineering Option. As well as managing Rags N Ranchwear, I work full time in Rochester, MN as a Survey Technician. When I'm not working, or at a vendor event, I can be found at the barn spending time with my horses, Clifford and Malibu or my Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Penny. Pictured below, is Clifford, my 25-year-old gelding. He used to show western pleasure but now he just enjoys trail riding and dinner time! I've owned him for 12+ years.

Pictured below is my mare Malibu. I leased her and broke her out as a 2- and 3-year-old when I was just 15 and 16 years old. In early 2024 I heard that she was for sale, and I inquired about purchasing her. Fast forward to April and I brought her home! Right now, we trail ride and show some local ranch shows together. I'm enjoying getting to know Malibu as a finished horse and she can now enjoy a single rider!
